Carma Mohler Fund to Alleviate Hunger

Carma Mohler had a passion for feeding the hungry and provided funding to help alleviate the hunger problem. The Iowa United Methodist Foundation was chosen as the recipient of funds from Carma Mohler and intends to provide assistance to those organizations that feed the hungry. The Foundation believes alleviating hunger may be accomplished through direct feeding programs and by teaching individuals how to produce food. Therefore, the Foundation will seek to fund programs providing immediate relief from hunger but will also consider programs with the goal of solving the hunger issue by teaching people to produce sustenance for themselves and society.

Reutinger Church Loan Fund

The Ruetinger Loan Fund is used to make loans to Iowa United Methodist Churches for special or emergency needs or to churches that may have difficulty getting a loan on the commercial market. While this is not an outright grant, the interest charged is usually significantly below market rates available to churches.
